We are a family owned and operated farm in Twiggtown, Maryland. Produce is grown on a bicentennial Farm that has been owned and operated by the same family since 1768 (Dr. and Mrs. Homer Twigg). The farm is located 8 miles from Cumberland, Maryland. Our greatest resource is our family and friends. As with any business, farming is time consuming so a lot of family members are involved, working together to produce first quality vegetables and fruits. Our goal is to keep and pass on the heritage and pride of our family farm to the next generation.
Fresh greenhouse tomatoes, cucumber, and squash will soon be ready for picking. Fresh vegetables can be purchased June thru October of each year. Hay, straw, and ear corn is available year round. Spring flowers (bedding plants and hanging baskets) are available during May and June. Check the Calendar to see when and where we are open. Be sure to check out the different selection of produce you can purchase and the approximate time for growing.
One of the best things about any Farmer’s Market is that you can ask the farmer who grew your purchase, how it was grown, and when it was picked. Those visiting Farmer’s Market will find farmers willing to discuss anything about their vegetables. One thing the long-time Farmer’s Market shopper will know is that each season and each year is different - a long, cool spring is great for apples but means a poor strawberry crop. The Produce Selection tells you what and about when we expect each new addition, but it's best to consult with a producer to be sure. Produce Selections are always changing and always FRESH. |
